wanted

Wanted is a photo-based project now in progress that builds on portraits from my high school yearbook. It examines the nature of this conventional form of photography against the backdrop of longing, obsession, and drama that define coming of age. In Wanted, I focus on pictures of young women and the performative aspects of their portraits. I re-photograph them, vastly enlarging the images and reconfiguring the halftone matrix to render them in ill-defined, incomplete shades of gray, portraying them in an ambiguous state of becoming.
