the architecture of memory

For over three decades, Susan Magnus accumulated hundreds of 4x6 inch chromogenic snapshots—some were out of focus, others under or over exposed, and some were of people and places that she could no longer remember. In The Architecture of Memory she obscured portions of these rejected pictures with paint to create a series of installations that reflected the unreliability of photography and memory.
